1700’s OBITUARIES
(1737)
WELLS, MARY (SARGENT), the second wife of Captain Thomas
Wells, was married to him 4/10/1729. She
was born 12/29/1705 and was the daughter of Philip and Mary (Tewksbury) Sargent
of Amesbury, Massachusetts. She died without issue about 1737.
(1773)
HULL, ISAAC, the son of George and Mehitable Hull, was born
in 1755. He was killed in Plymouth
on 2/12/1773.
(1777)
HULL, SAMUEL, died in 1777, while a soldier in Scammell’s
regiment during the American Revolution.
HULL, NATHANIEL, died in 1777, while a soldier in
Scammell’s regiment with his brother, Samuel.
Nathaniel was married in 1776 to Elizabeth Baker.
Both brothers are buried in the Hunt Cemetery opposite the Grafton County
Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road.
EMERSON, REBECCA (HOBART), the first wife of Dr. Peter
Emerson, died 8/25/1778. She was 17
years old, and had been married only 20 months. She is buried in the Lower Intervale Cemetery. Rebecca was
the daughter of Colonel David Hobart.

HARVELL, PETER, the son of James Harvell and his first
wife, Mary Snow, was born 10/18/1776. He
was the fifth child born to them. He
drowned on 4/24/1789 at the age of 13.
