1890 MARRIAGES

 

            GOODHUE, GEORGE A., age 30 and CLEMENT, LUCY A., age 32, were married on April 8, 1890.  It was the first marriage for both of them.  He was a tailor and she was a dressmaker.  His parents were George F. Goodhue and Adeline Brown.  Lucy’s parents were John and Susan Clement.

 

            STEVENS, DAVID, age 22 and CHASE, ANGELINE, age 17, were married May 5, 1890.  It was the first marriage for each.  David was a farmer.  He was the son of Hiram and Sara Stevens.  Angeline’s parents were Pash and Betsey Chase.

 

            SHERWELL, FRANK P., age 33 and PROCTOR, DELLA I., age 23, were married May 11, 1890.  It was the second marriage for each.  Frank was a barber.  He was the son of Samuel and Hannah French (Wiley) Sherwell.  His first wife was Jennie Mae Archer, of Orford.  He lived in Plymouth from 1884 to 1897.  Della’s parents were Fred W. and Helen M. (Kirth) Fairbanks.

 

            PEBBLES, AZRO G., age 32 and BURNS, EMMA E., age 17 were married May 17, 1890. This was his second marriage and Emma’s first.  His first marriage was to Cora G. Nelson.  She died January 7, 1889,  Azro and Emma left Plymouth in 1891.  He was the son of Alba John and Almeda (Andrews) Pebbles.  He was an engineer by trade.  Emma’s mother was Mary (Corrigan) Burns.  Her father’s first name was not listed, so we will identify him as Mr. Burns.

 

            FOGG, LIVINGSTON DAVID, age 30 and LOUGEE, CLARA ANN, age 33, were married May 23, 1890.  It was the first marriage for David and the second for Clara.  She was the widow of Charles Franklin Lougee. Clara Ann had four children by her marriage to Charles Lougee.  Her maiden name was also Lougee, being the daughter of Chase and Elvira (Wiley) Lougee. Livingston Fogg was the son of David Henry Fogg and he was born in Ashland in 1861.He was in the coal business and was the agent of the Plymouth Water Works.

 

            FIFIELD, VICTOR ALBERT, age 22 and SARGENT, ALICE MABEL, age 16, were married August 26, 1890.  It was the first marriage for each.  Victor was a painter.  He was the son of Albert A. and Emily A. (Clark) Fifield.  Alice was the daughter of Seneca and Eliza (Ham) Sargent of Ashland. 

 

            BLAISDELL, IRA F., age 27 and SMITH, SADIE G., age 27 were married September 6, 1890.  It was his first marriage and her third.  Ira was a farmer and the son of Henry J. and Mary A. (Joyce) Blaisdell.  Sadie was the daughter of Uriah S. and Hannah W. (Smith) Smith.

 

            MILGATE, ELMER E., age 23 and CURTIS, LAURA M., age 23, were both married for the first time on October 1, 1890.  Elmer was a cook and he was the son of W.H. and Ellen A. (Burber) Milgate.  Willard and Marth (Young) Curtis were the parents of Laura.

 

            FOSS, WILLIAM J., age 33 and MERRILL, MARRY EMMA, age 35 were married October 1, 1890. This was the first marriage for each.  William was the son of John D. and Mary J. (Green) Foss.  Marry Emma was the daughter of Hiram Wesley and Mary E. (Foster) Merrill.

 

            EASTMAN, HORACE WESTON, age 24 and MC INTOSH, MARTHA GRACE, age 17, were each married for the first time on October 23, 1890.  Horace was the son of Henry Hoyt and Caroline (Preston) Eastman.  He was a blacksmith by trade.  Martha Grace was the daughter of Fred and Mary (Barrett) McIntosh.

 

            DUBOIS, J. FRANK, age 24 and BLAISDELL, MARY, age 23, were married October 29, 1890.  It was the first marriage for each.  Fred was an electrician and he was the son of Charles B. and Mary E. (Connor) Dubois.  Eva Mary was the daughter of Walter Densmore and Annie (Huckins) Blaisdell.

 

            MOODY, JOHN W., age 27 and KELLEY, JOSIE L., age 18, were married December 6, 1890.  It was the first marriage for each.   John W. was the son of John Moody.

 

            BOYNTON, JOHN MARSTON, age 47 and HOBART, ALICE A., age 43, were married December 23, 1890.  It was the first marriage for each.  John was a farmer and the son of John and Phebe (Batchelder) Boynton.  Martha was the daughter of Hiram and Syrene (Paige) Hobart.  The newlyweds lived on Winter Street.

 

            WALBRIDGE, CHARLES EUGENE, age 25 and TONDREAU, EMILY, age 26, married for the first time each on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1890.  Charles was a carpenter and a bridge builder.  He was the son of Schuyler Putnam and Helen (Hurd) Walbridge.  Emily was the daughter of Augustine and Hester Estelle (Lebanta) Tondreau.  Charles worked on the B & M railroad, and was also a partner in the firm of Jones and Walbridge, contractors of stone and brick masonry.
